What anime would you recommend for a teenage girl?

If you are at ALL into sci-fi, I'd recommend Steins Gate. It's relatively modern and highlights a few popular locations in Japan and also a bit of some culture. The characters are all great, amazing story, captivating... it's my favourite anime overall. It's not too long, and whenever I recommend it to someone they always tell me they had to stay up all night to finish the last several episodes because it's too good to stop.
