暴露 (bakuro: to expose, bring to light)     to expose + to expose

彼は市政の堕落を暴露した。
Kare wa shiseino daraku o bakuro shita.
He exposed corruption in the city government.

(kare: he)
市政 (shisei: municipal government)
     city + government
堕落 (daraku: depravity, corruption, degradation)
     degenerate + to fall (in status)

その政治スキャンダルは2人のジャーナリストによって暴露された。
Sono seiji sukyandaru wa futari no jānarisuto ni yotte bakuro sareta.
The political scandal was brought to light by two journalists.

政治 (seiji: politics)
     political administration + government
2 (futari: two people)      two + people


ついに正体を暴露したな。
Tsui ni shōtai o bakuro shita na.
Now you’ve given yourself away.

正体 (shōtai: natural shape; one’s true colors)
     authentic + form


そのような内緒事はいつも結局は暴露される。
Sono yōna naishogoto wa itsumo kekkyoku wa bakuro sareru.
Such secrets are always eventually revealed.

内緒事 (naishogoto: secret; private or confidential matter)
     inside + SHO sound + matter

Halpern’s comment on the role of here took me by surprise. You may know this from 一緒に (issho ni: together). In that case, it means “thread of events.” Generally, it means “outset, beginning, inception.” But in the case of 内緒 (naisho: secrecy, privacy), simply functions phonetically to provide the SHO sound.
