強言 (shiigoto: talking even though no one wants to listen)

You probably know 強 as tsuyo(i), meaning “strong.” That’s not quite the sense of this kanji in 強言.
You may also recognize 強 as the latter half of 勉強 (benkyō: study). In that compound and in 強言 (shiigoto), 強 means “to force, to compel.”
The compound 強言 combines two kun-yomi: shii and koto. This shii comes from 強いる (shiiru: to force, to compel, to press). Somehow, 強 in 強言 has picked up an extra i, turning from shi into shii. However, at least one dictionary shows 強い言 as the way to write shiigoto, so there seem to be multiple ways of representing this word.
