Sample Sentences with 粗探し

粗探し (arasagashi: fault finding, nitpicking)     flaw + to look for

トムはいつも彼女の粗探しをする。
Tomu wa itsumo kanojo no arasagashi o suru.
Tom always finds fault with her.

彼女 (kanojo: she, her)     he + woman

I can’t relate at all to the next two sentences:

私はなんとか他人の粗探しをする習慣を克服する
ことができた。

Watashi wa nantoka tanin no arasagashi o suru shūkan o kokufuku suru koto ga dekita.
I managed to get over the habit of finding fault with others.

(watashi: I)
他人 (tanin: other people)     other + person
習慣 (shūkan: habit)     custom + habit
克服 (kokufuku: subjugation; conquest; victory)
     to overcome + to cause to submit

粗探しをされるのが好きな人はいない。
Arasagashi o sareru no ga sukina hito wa inai.
Nobody likes to be found fault with.

(su(ki): to like)
(hito: person)

Hmph. A bunch of ingrates!
