順序 (junjo: order; sequence; procedure)     order + order

社会を先に正すべきだという人がいるが、それは順序が逆である。
Shakai o sakini tadasu beki da to iu hito ga iru ga, sore wa junjo ga gyaku de aru.
Some say society should be corrected first, but that’s putting the cart before the horse.

Note that there’s no actual mention of a cart or a horse here—just of a “reverse order,” or 順序が逆 (junjo ga gyaku).

社会 (shakai: society)     society + association
先に (sakini: before, first)
(tada(su): to correct, to reform)
(hito: person)
(gyaku: reverse; opposite)

Here’s again!

誰も事件の順序を思い出すことができなかった。
Dare mo jiken no junjo o omoidasu koto ga dekinakatta.
Nobody could remember the sequence of events.

誰も (dare mo: no one)
事件 (jiken: event; affair)     affair + incident
思い出 (omoida(su): to remember)
     to remember + to come out
