目がない (meganai: crazy about, extremely fond of; having a weakness for)
The kanji means “eye.” And がない (ga nai) means “there is none.” There is no eye? Of course. When you’re crazy about something, it can turn into a blinding passion, leaving you unable to see! The yomi meganai happens to sound close to megane (glasses: 眼鏡, eyeball + lens)!
Finally, here’s a word we’ve seen in the past (at least in its verb form), one that bears revisiting:
気触れ (kabure: crazy about; having an affectation concerning all things surrounding something (esp. a language, a culture, etc.)) feeling + to contact
This word sounds like “cabaret”! So you can be 気触れ about the cabaret!
