When a Japanese asks you what is your background...

Postby asahi_nysurf » December 14th, 2006 10:10 pm

Hey Guys, i'm curious to know when a Japanese asks "What is your background? (i.e. What is your nationality?)

How would you respond that you are mixed, like you're mixed blood? And then go about the different kinds of nationalities that make you up.

Thanks guys!

"ハーフ" is a pretty common (but not 100% politically correct?) term.

"AとBとのハーフです" might work.
Or just "父はAで,母はBです".

Something like that perhaps.

Don't know. Never had to talk about it before.
