I've been forever fascinated and intrigued by commuting and touring Japan by bicycle. In my time there this summer, I've seen an endless stream of bicyclists pedaling home at night during rush hour and have found various Bicycle shops doing searches on line.
Besides the ubiquitous 'Mama-Chari", young Japanese Men & Women seem to have a conscious flair for the well equipped commuter, fashionable 'fixie' and even the latest in road racing machines.
I've wondered, If i were a cyclist needing repairs on my faithful steed, how would you properly phrase these basic repair issues to a Bicycle technician at the shop?:
-I need a flat fixed.
-My brakes need adjustment.
-My derailleur needs adjustment.
-There is a grinding noise in my Front/rear Axle, Bottom Bracket.
-My chain is skipping.
-My *headset/wheel /hub, is loose.
