I made up a poster for my daughter to learn hiragana. A for Anpanman, ka for curry pan man etc. etc. all using characters from her favourite show. Once she had learnt them all, I changed the letters from hiragana to katakana and printed out the poster again. I also put a poster on the door in the toilet, it works wonders!! Now she can read all hiragana and about three quarters of the katakana. My daughter will be 4 in May.
