JapanesePod101.com would be awesome if only they didn't bombard me with emails, bad marketing and a difficult sign up process. If that all changes then this would be the best site of all. I would defiantly go premium but until then I have to stay free.

The sample podcasts available on iTunes through jp101 are so good that I kept coming back to this site out of curiosity but the irritating videos and over the top marketing tactics drove me away every time. I'm finally a basic member but I doubt I'll ever upgrade.

yes, the marketing is a bit over the top but the premium features are definitely worth it!!!

what does the site miss? A bit more interaction... I discovered japanesepod101.com only at the end of 2010 (but I have studied hundred of lessons) and, having a look at comments, blog (c'mon write a bit more than the word of the day!), forum the community and the interaction with the staff was deeper, better, more lively. Jp101.com is great, but it doesn't get better than beginner season 1!!!

Also, the new podcasts are a bit less crazy and fun than they used to be. That's what made japanesepod101.com so unique...
