Kanji workbook

Postby jampanman » July 31st, 2009 2:18 am

I've recently finished my first kanji workbook which covered 324 kanji including those required for the JLPT3.

I am now looking for a workbook which could take me to JLPT2; does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks ahead

Jampanman,

What workbook did you use?
I always recommend the Kanzen Master series if you're studying for the JLPT :)

I'm pretty sure that I found the Kanzen Masters series in a big bookstore near Shinjuku station. I can't remember the name of the bookstore, but it was spread out over two floors in a department store building either across the road from or directly over the station. If you're outside Tokyo you might find it more difficult to find. I have yet to find a book store in Yamanashi that stocks a decent number of English-learning books...

If it's to the east of the station and above the Louis Vitton, I think it's called Jukendo or something. It has about the biggest selection of Japanese learning books. The people there are nice too and don't get uptight when you try to speak to them in Japanese.

I haven't been to the Junkudo in Shinjuku, but the Kinokuniya there is also huge (eight floors!) and has a great selection of Japanese language learning books as well. :)

@Jessi,

How does this compare to the Unicom series? I've bought the kanji training one already, but still open for suggestions as to which one is better and more throrough.

Has anyone else used both? Does one have more content than the other?

I looked in that site and in Amazon and there seems not to be a Kanzen Master for JLPT 5...(or the previous 4). u.ù

These books can help you to learn more than 500 kanji

KANJI LOOK AND LEARN The japan Times ( 512 kanji with mnemonic hints)

BASIC KANJI vol II Bonjisha (250 K)

MINNA NO NIHONGO KANJI Vol II ( I vol is more than 100 and this one arrive to 518)

INTERMEDIATE KANJI vol I and II Bonjinsha ( 250 kanji each; total kanji with the basic serie = 1000)

I hope this can help.

I have ordered the Remembering the Kanji one, I will consider to acquire later one of the books you mention, may be the Minna no Nihongo one...may be, the kanji practice one?, or the kanji textbook?, both may be :D.

Thank you for your advice!,
