Watch out! You meant to write 幸里 which is こうり. The character you wrote, though similar, is one I've never seen in Japanese but I know through my studies of Mandarin... 辜 is "gu" and it means "crime" or "sin." Look more closely:

YES: 幸
NO: 辜

At small font sizes this is a really easy mistake to make... but it's also a bad one.

I figured the last name would be Ha Ru E Ru or something similar. Not sure about Phil/Philip. Andrew, I'm guessing, is A N Do Ru.

Yeah, that does make sense, guess I was just overcompensating for the lack of a We sound.

I think the last syllable of Andrew should probably be ル instead of リュ because the 'y' sound doesn't seem to fit. Ru is pretty much how it sounds. At least, that's my guess.

I wondered that same thing myself for a long while. Turns out it's a / on my IME, but if not that, you can look it up in your IME's settings - there should be an input glossary somewhere. For the record, 'l' and 'x' before characters create the shrunken ones. la = ぁ.
