スティーヴ (sutiivu) can be used, but I think スティーブ (sutiibu) is more common (the Japanese don't like their V's ). Depending how much you stress the second syllable of your surname, you'd have レクタ (rekuta) or レクトー (rekutoo).

Yes you can. Though many Japanese names utilize kun'yomi pronunciations for kanji, there are no (rather like katakana, and also why names are so hard to read accurately) hard-set rules. The family name 安藤 (andou), for example, is on'yomi. A word of warning, however, is that while non-Japanese names can be rendered into kanji, the results are often clunky. I find it is better to choose a Japanese name that you like, perhaps one that resembles the meaning of your given name-- this is how I chose 高山是真-- though this isn't to say good phonetic translations are impossible (an article I read once on this topic cited 利茶道, "Richard," which I think is absolutely wicked). When you've landed on something, checking it with a native is probably a good idea as well.

Good luck!

I believe it should be:
デレック・カイル・マーフリー
Welcome to the forums, mate!

Might as well nip spelling problems in the bud... mina or minna (no dash) and gozaimasu.

As for your name, I assume you pronounce 'le' as 'lee' as in the Chinese name 李 (you are Vietnamese?). With that, your name in katakana:
ミン・リー

Welcome and have fun with J-pod 101! :D

Sure. That katakana renders to "min rii" in romaji.
