kanji learning website

Postby esp » April 24th, 2006 3:36 am

http://www.speedanki.com/

I've found this to be a good website for learning kanji. I think it has all the kanji for all the JLPT tests, and they're all organised into helpful groups.

You can also download a program from this website which is very helpful for learning kanji.

I was about to link to Wakan myself, but I see I've already been beat. Wakan is an awesome tool. It functions as a dictionary, text editor and a kanji look-up tool. The text editor is very nice as it allows me to write in romaji, then have it translated into the correct kanji/kana.

Individual kanji flash cards here:

Has compounds as well.

Gah! I was about to link to speedanki.com! Oh well, either way the word needs to get out on this great site. The interface is really smooth and it achieves its purpose perfectly.

If you use firefox as you're internet browser there is a program called rikaichan which is very helpful if you need to know what a kanji or kanji compounds mean. It can also translate words you don't yet know.

Here's a link you can download it from http://www.polarcloud.com/rikaichan/

Adds furigana to pages with Kanji, though it sometimes struggles with html layouts.
