Every time I see 一応, it seems to mean a different thing! The subject line of this thread is just a few. I've looked in lots of dictionaries, and even asked real live 日本人 what it means, and no one can help me. Most people scratch their heads, say "Eeeee 確かに難しいね!" but aren't able to explain it in any meaningful way.

Help me jPod一丸一、you're my only hope! :D :D

I remember Peter and Natsuko saying that this word is overused by some, and ends up more like a filler in some cases, rather than what it's supposed to mean.
