たびに grammar help

Postby newyears072399 » November 18th, 2013 11:25 am

I'm working on grammar at the moment, and I'm not sure if the sentence I have constructed is correct. Any feed back would be appreciated. I was also wondering if this would be considered a n3 level sentence.

内をでるたびに雨がふりはじめている。
whenever I leave my house it starts raining.

Hi thanks for your comment!
You did a great job, but please let me correct a few little parts. :D

内をでるたびに雨がふりはじめている。

家をでるたびに雨がふりはじめる。

House is 家(uchi/ie). 内 means "inside or within". It's confusing because it has the same sound but different kanjis, right?

でるたびに is perfect. :flower:

ふりはじめている is a present progressive form because it has te-iru. I assumed the sentence you gave us was referring something that often happens, not actually happening right NOW. So it's better to use a present form of dictionary form which is ふりはじめる instead of ふりはじめている. :)

I hope it makes sense!

Sincerely,
Nanatsu (菜々津)
