Understanding the TV / Radio News

Postby whosyourdaddy » December 12th, 2006 9:22 pm

Advanced Intermediate student here who wants to focus on improving my listening comprehension skills and expand my vocab by listening to / watching TV and Radio News broadcasts in Japanese online. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of any sites with streaming or video/audio files geared toward non-native speakers? Mainly looking for watching a clip where the narators either speak slower than usual or perhaps one where there are transcripts of the audio or atleast subtitles etc. Something I guess like how Rikai.com makes it easier to read Kanji you may not recognize but for listening skills.
Thanks for any help........

Well I don't know of any that are specifically aimed towards non-native speakers, but if you go to http://wwitv.com they have a bunch of Japanese language streaming video. I use it all of the time.

For streaming audio try these sites:
http://www.hanamiweb.com/webrad.html
http://www.multilingualbooks.com/online ... anese.html
http://www.skyenet.net/~jamesk/JapaneseRadio.html

There has to be something there that piques your interest.

I hope that helps a little.
