My Japanese Coach

Postby gaghl641295 » May 25th, 2013 3:37 am

I was looking into getting the "My Japanese Coach" Game for my 3ds and I was wondering how well does it work. (In terms of vocab, speech recognition, etc..)

Hi gaghl641295-san,

I haven't tried it yet.

It is good for beginners but you may find yourself having to unlearn old habits created by this game. Like correct stroke order or... for instance, how it makes you write ki how ki is typed instead of writing it how it is written by hand. It doesn't really help you learn. It is much better as a practice "fun" tool. Something to do when you are brain dead from all the other Japanese you have been learning. Or if like, you don't have a smart phone and this is your only Japanese on the go option.

This game was great when I was in a class but on it's own, you won't retain the information, least I didn't. Overall it isn't a very good use of time.

But with that said... I played this game countless hours. XD
