Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo

Postby watertommyz9255 » February 1st, 2014 9:08 am

I didn't see anywhere else where I could talk about live action Japanese drama, so I'm posting this one here, since it's supposedly based on a manga of the same name. I was lucky enough to find a DVD of this, and am enjoying it greatly. It's about foreigners in Japan learning the language, culture, social situations, and pitfalls along with their reluctant sensei.

I highly reccomend it if you can find it online. It reminded me of the japanesePod101's own iLove J-Drama, which I enjoyed too.

watertommyz9255-san,
kon'nichiwa! :D
Thank you for the info!
Actually, "nihonjin no shiranai nihongo" is my favourite manga
It was hilarious

As to live drama....I can't give a good info on "live" ones, but there're some websites
where you can actually watch a lot of Japanese dramas.
Some websites have uploaded video with subtitles (in Chinese, Korean or English, mostly).
Do you wish to have any subtitles at all? Or are you advanced enough to be able to enjoy
Japanese drama without subtitles? If you're the latter, Google ドラマ 動画 まとめ
and you'll find a page which has a long list of dramas (including on-going ones).

Hope this helps!

Thank you! And I really want to check out the manga.

The drama is very addicting, and I'm almost done with it, and I just don't want it to end!

I haven't seen the manga (should probably get a copy), but this is my fav, also. This jump-started a renewed interest in learning the Japanese language I hadn't felt since my mid-twenties. Well-done!

Kevinka san,
Konnichiwa.
That is an interesting manga.
Maybe Japanese native speakers should read and think about their Japanese language.
