I'm an avid learner of Japanese, but I just want to check the kanji on something....
My husband and I are planning on getting matching tattoos sometime soon and we would like to get the the idiom "ishindensin". I'll have the "ishin" part on me and he will have the "denshin" part on him. I understand it basically means "heart to heart" meaning you have such a deep relationship with someone you do not need words, you communicate with your hearts. (^ ^ very very sweet)
But I just want to check that I am using the correct kanji:以心伝心, and to make sure that if we separate the idiom like that, they don't mean anything lewid or stupid by themselves. I've heard many horror stories where people get Japanese and Chinese tattoos and they don't mean anything close to what they intended;....
So Ishin on me: 以心
Denshin on him: 伝心
