It means "is it OK with you?" or "do you mind?"

Could also say どうぞ。(please) or even かまいません。( (I) don't mind)

Good point; it might depend more on the situation as you might say why it's not ok, but sorry ごめなさい is probably a good start.

Well, a littel help from us too... "thank you for your answer" in Japanese could be
こたえてくれてありがとう。 Also, おへんじありがとう。 where おへんじ literally means "reply" (this sounds more natural, actually). :wink:
