Expressing Similarity

Postby bryce2555760 » December 29th, 2010 6:59 am

Hi, sorry if this is covered in lesson or another thread but I cant find it.

I was wondering how you can express similarity between 2 or more things. E.g. "The moon is like the sun of the night" (sorry i know its a bit cheesy)

Thankyou :D

I'm pretty sure you'd use ~みたい

For example,

月は夜の太陽みたいだ。 -> tsuki wa yoru no taiyou mitai da.

Literally, The moon is like the night's sun.

I haven't checked with a native speaker yet though.

EDIT: I checked, this is natural sounding.
