Additional Katakana

I haven't found a topic for this but if there is: I am sorry.

My question is not about the "normal" Katakana. I'm doing okay with that. But there are some new additions like ヴィ or クォ
I have a book where some of those additions are listed but not all. Also some are listed that I can't write with my PC like ズィ. And there are some that are listed elsewhere (Wiki has a list of all of them).

My question is: which combinations are official and therefore I can use? Or are those combinations just as one likes? For example I have seen デュ used as ju and as dyu. is that wrong/outdated to use デュ as du (since you normally use ジュ) and it should be normally be dyu or what is going on?

As you can see I am very confused. I want to know what I should learn.

You can type those small katakana by pressing x first, like xi will come out as ぃ. If pressing space doesn't convert to katakana, press F7. ティ、ディ、ヴィ are extremely common (off the top of my head).

Thanks for the info. I thought when the computer doesn't convert my typing it is not commonly to use.

Since there were no further answers I guess I can use whatever I want from the additional Katakana then?

Well, you need to use whatever katakana the word uses, i.e. spell it correctly. Yes, if a word doesn't convert when you press space then it's probably spelt wrong. You can guess a lot of the time, but it's usually best to check your dictionary, especially considering the funny meanings words can take on (テンション, for example). For example, you might think virus is ヴァイルス, but it's actually ウイルス. Since there are so many of these words, and a lot of them have silly meanings, and all of them have horrible pronunciation, they're actually quite annoying.

But what about a names for example. Do they have a correct spelling as well?
