Your translation seems pretty good to me. I find myself wanting to make just two minor changes
昨日、雨が降っていた間に遠くまで自転車に乗らなければならなかった。
I changed 振っている to 振っていた and added まで after 遠く。 For some reason, its sounds more natural to me. But that's just me. Your sentence might be just fine.
