This is my suggestion, a few years back, there are only beginner season 1 and survival phrases 1, so I just study them all.

Now so many newbie and beginner series, here is my recommendation.

Start with
First Step:
-Beginner Season lesson 1-50 (or at least lesson 1 -30).
-Listen to survival phrases season 1 as well, for this, just listen as many as you can. You can skip this part too if you want, but I recommend listen it for fun.

Second Step:
- Newbie Season lesson: listen to all of them if you can, but if you want to save time, then start from lesson 31 and finish that season. You can skip some lesson if you find it too easy.

Third step:
-Listen to Beginner season 4, listen to all 50 lessons, the grammar explanation in this season is the best among all series. This season will give you a strong basic grammar foundation.

Fourth step:
-Go back to beginner season 1, this time start from lesson 90 and finish it. The reason I suggest this is because there is a huge gap in Beginner season 4 and lower intermediate lesson, if you have never been through beginner season 1, you are going to find lower intermediate series tough, a lot of grammar in lower intermediate are not being covered in beginner season 4. Lest to mention that the increased amount of Japanese spoken.
- Beginner Season 1 on the other hand, will progress linearly till you reach lower intermediate/intermediate level, the Japanese spoken in season 1 is also by far the best among all the seasons, it is natural and easy to listen, it is the best lesson to improve your listen skill. Beginner season 1 also cover a lot of grammar that are never being covered anywhere else. Therefore, making Beginner season 1 by far the best overall series.

Fifth step:
-After you finish Beginner Season 1, you are very equipped to go straight into Lower intermediate series, for this part just listen to all of them. You can listen to Intermediate series at the same time if you feel comfortable.

Alternatively, you can do what I did a few years back, just listen to all Beginner Season 1 and Survival Season 1, then go into lower intermediate.
