あんだろ。。。?

Postby kepompong » June 18th, 2009 3:01 am

Right, another one :P I blame my sudden question spree on my attempt at reading manga in Japanese :P :P

Is 「あんだろ」 a very colloquial way of saying 「あるんだろう」 ?

The sentence it came from is 「向こうも忙しそうだし そのうち連絡あんだろ…」
I wasn't sure I quite get the meaning of that sentence.
Is it somewhere along the line of, "The other person seems busy, I shouldn't call while she's busy, right?"
I might get that completely wrong

No worries, we like it when people ask questions!

Yes, it is. けんかすんなよ, for example, can be short for けんかするなよ.

The sentence means that [in addition] the other side seems busy, and that sooner or later he'll/she'll/they'll [probably] get in touch anyway. そのうち means "sooner or later" and 連絡がある is to get communications. I suspect there's some hesitation happening in this scene here, however as always I reserve the right to be mistaken.

Hope this helps!

Judging from this thread and the others, it sounds like you're picking up a lot of male slang in this manga

Ahahaha, yeah :P
There are more male parts then girl parts since the main character is a guy.
And the girl parts are so much easier to understand :D
I think male slang is so much more fun to read anyway
