Difference between Rikaichan on Thunderbird and Firefox

Postby lancos » May 26th, 2008 4:33 am

I have installed Rikaichan on Thunderbird 2.0 and Firefox 2.0. I have noticed that some words are not completely translated on Thunderbird and only the first kanjis are taken into account. For example, 問い合わせ is correctly translated on Firefox as "inquiry" (all characters are highlighted) where as on Thunderbird, only the 2 first characters 問い are highlighted and I got the translation of "question". Has anyone experienced this difference?

i think i know what the problem is.

try pressing the shift key. it will change the way rikaichan works.

shift toggles between kanji only and whole words

Shift translates the first kanji of the characters that have been highlighted displaying the kanji flash card. It's the same procedure on Firefox. So far as I know, Shift (or Enter) switches the enabled dictionaries.
