Japanese dessert art

Postby mtpiper » November 19th, 2007 7:23 pm

For those in the US....I watched CBS Sunday Morning and they had a segment about a Japanese dessert that is made from a bean paste. They create very beautiful pieces! Some of them look like a dumpling, but there were several shapes made. The outside was a white layer, and the inside was the bean filling that they cook with sugar. Me, being the idiot, deleted the program from my dvr without even thinking to write down the name of the dessert. I checked the CBS website, but the only mention is the name of the segment: "Sweet Spot: Japanese Desserts". It looks wonderful and I want to try it when we go to Japan.
Can someone help me out?

Also could have been daifuku, or maybe some kind of dango
