I find it really hard to find J Pop over here. Even in import stores.

little bit of posting necromancy but still..

I'm currently really liking
Michihiro Kuroda
RADWIMPS
though I would classify both more as indie/rock.

I like to listen to Japanese boy bands, I like them way better than some English/American boy bands.
I usually listen to NewS, and occasionally KAT-TUN and Arashi. ^ ^

I'd say a good 75% of the music I listen to is Japanese :) I recently found a reeeally good Jpop internet radio station if anyone is interested:

http://www.hardcorej.com/index_jp.php

The site is kind of all over the place... But they have an amazing, very up-to-date playlist!!

I have a total of 2 English songs on my iPod, the other 83 songs are in Japanese. ^-^ My most recent obsession is NewS, especially Tegoshi. I love his voice!

I love Japanese music, in particular Enka, but I found this song by Sakamoto Fuyumi which in my opinion is a mixture of Enka and J-pop to appeal to the younger Japanese audience, or maybe I am wrong and its just what any Japanese person would consider to be Enka.

Asia no kaizoku. I cannot translate this into kana, could someone translate the meaning of this song/title please?

Its nice and fast and up beat, I am trying to put together a Japanese play list to run too as I am a big running enthusiast too, could anyone be so kind as to recommend some upbeat songs, or some artists who have written/performed similar songs? My own searches come up with wonderful music but it is mostly sad songs that I find, which I enjoy but would not try to run with them as that would be very bizzare.

current favorite: Kyary Pamyu Pamyu; because she is a little crazy, but that's the Harajuku charm she brings to her music and I love it.

other than that, i like:
Hamasaki Ayumi
Amuro Namie
Utada Hikaru
M-Flo
Versailles Phliharmonic Quintet

and other artists... Most of the music I listen to are Japanese (and some Korean).
