I do not think that is a bubble burst. Each person has a different learning level for both reading comprehension and verbal skills. It is the performance and dedication of the learner that wins out in the end.
I say go for it. I work for a global japanese corporation and if I thought I had the skill set for that job, I would do it.
We are all wonderfully different. Never nay-say.
